Raynard Wins Duels!

News Index

Raynard had a great race at the SA Duathlon Championships this weekend at Midmar.

It was a non- wetsuit swim, which suited Raynard and he exited the swim with lead bunch including Glen Gore, Carl, Brad and Anton Storm, David Hyam and the olympic star swimmer Terence Parkin.

Raynard was first out onto the bike, followed closely by Brad Storm.

Brad led at the half point with Raynard riding comfortably 20 secs back.

Raynard passed Brad took the lead on the 2nd lap of the bike and never looked back. He went on to win by more than 12 minutes to eventual 2nd placed finisher David Hyam.

David , who was racing as an amateur, proved that he should be racing in the pro field with a fantastic 2nd place finish - after a 5minute drafting penalty.

Brad Storm finished in 3rd overall followed by Carl Storm and James Cunumma.

EP proved that they are a force to be reckoned with at IM with 3 finishers in the top 5.

Well done to all who competed!

This weekend we are heading up to VD BIjl Park for the Prestige Ultra Half IM.
