BEGINNERS TRIATHLON PROGRAM

Team Tissink provides training programs and squad sessions for beginners wanting to tackle their very first triathlon and ultimately progress through to 70.3 and IMSA:

This program is predominantly for athletes who are based in the Eastern Cape and who will have the opportunity of attending the squad sessions in PE.

The program includes 2 swim sessions/week, 1 run session and 1 bike session per week.

Swim stroke technique, swim drills, and fitness training will be covered as well as sea swimming. Basic cycling skills will also be taught as well as transition training, pacing and race day nutrition.

If you are not based in the Eastern Cape, please ask us about one of our other programs that will be more suited to your requirements.

A bit about the Coaching Academy:

Raynard and Natalie Tissink have more than 45 years combined experience in the triathlon industry.

Raynard is an Ironman phenomenon, having completed 33 Ironman triathlons – with 8 Ironman wins, 18 podium finishes and 4 Top 10 finishes at the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. He is a 3 time winner and the current record holder of IMSA.

Natalie has 25 years of coaching experience in swimming and triathlon. She is a qualified swimming coach, sports massage therapist and personal trainer. Natalie is a past National Swimming Champion, and has represented SA in swimming, life-saving and triathlon.
